With COTA’s CEO having over 21 years of experience and Red Seal Endorsed as a machinist, complex part manufacturing is a core competency at COTA.
Ranging from complex aerospace structures, radar systems components, aerospace gears to full specialized gearboxes. COTA’s machining department is comfortable working in a variety of materials, including some of the most difficult, Inconel, titanium, and armor grade steels.
Our machining department hosts the latest in advanced CNC machines, including multiple Okuma 9+ axis mill-turns and 5-axis palletized production mills from Hermle. Our blended machining and manufacturing acumen is a key advantage to our clients in building complex assemblies requiring multi faceted competencies.

COTA’s manufacturing facility is equipped with multiple large envelope Renishaw Agility CMMs. We did significant research and found the Agility to be the best ‘clean sheet’ in new CMM design.

Unlike some other ‘gear’ CMM’s, we selected the WENZEL GT450 for its ability to provide comprehensive data on not just gears themselves - but to leverage the entire suite of CMM capabilities to provide ‘one stop’ verification on complex shafts.
